Write, Edit, Publish December 2021 bloghop Narcissus

Greetings everyone. Narcissism is the topic of the December bloghop for Write, Edit, Publish. Hosted by Denise Covy, Renee, Nilla, Laura, Jemi, and Olga. Thank you, ladies. Below is my entry. To read what others have said go here.

Narcissism is a mental health illness in which the person who suffers from it is full of themselves, literally. In recent times, the world has witnessed several leaders that display this condition. Thank God, the most recent one is gone, for now, and I hope he never returns. Scary times.

A narcissist also makes a good villain. Below is my entry and it is also an excerpt from my up coming fantasy book tilted: The Emperor of the Moon and Stars, Book 3 in The Chronicles of Gil-Lael.

Almost forgot the tagline: When one imagines themselves invincible.

Narcissist

Ose Shigemori leaned back against the tree. Soon, hed leave Aya for the Province of Xuqihar. Those men who pledged their support had made it to the cave system in the mountains. The time had come for him to abandon hope of having Tamika returned. Coulomb was out of his reach as well. It wasnt worth the death of good men to help him escape.

Shiho knelt at his side, cleaning his fingernails. She wasnt a madam to the onsen anymore. He arrived with his men, raided the geisha house, and forced the women to come with them. Now, Shiho attended to his needs, and right now, that meant his fingernails.

Shiho was polishing his nails now with a brush. Shed given him a hard time until he beat her senseless. The bruises were still visible. I might just do it again soon. He smiled.

Captain Chikusa entered. Excellency. He bowed. The traitors have been hanged as instructed.

Good. Did the usurper notice?

Yes. The usurpers men cut them down.

Shiho finished. Ose brought up his hand to admire his fingernails. Gather the men. We leave in an hour.

  14. I don't fully understand what's going down, but I can see the main character is a pompous arrogant... well, that he fits the prompt. Cool.

  15. Where is your post, Rajani? If it is part of the prompt I will read.

Thank you Jamie. Excerpts are hard to know how much to include. Ose is the villain.

  17. He definitely sounds like an awful man. Admiring his nails after probably using that very same hand to abuse Shiho.
