Today I normally have a writing challenge for anyone interested in participating and later in the day I post my sentences. But this is Jeffrey Beesler’s Early Bird Thanksgiving Blogfest. So Hump Day is all about being grateful. If you haven’t signed up for this blogfest, now you can toot your horn about how thankful you are for one or more things in my comments. If you have signed up, leave a teaser and directions to your blog…we will stop by and read it.
I am thankful that I am saved through Jesus and have a love of God in my heart. I am thankful for sunshine and rain. Wind in my hair. Clothes in my closet and food on the table. I am thankful that I live in a time and a place where I can enjoy freedom. I am grateful for all those who struggled to make my freedom possible. An ancestor of mine fought in nearly every American war, starting with the Revolutionary War. So I remember them. I am thankful for my family and for all of you, my blog friends and my real life friends. I am grateful that my mother is a stubborn woman who didn’t follow the advice of early educators and put me in an institution when I couldn’t read in 3rd grade. No, she taught me phonics and a love of books. I am thankful for my husband, my children and grandchildren. Love shared is multiplied.
There you have it. And I’m sure I could list more. But now I want to hear from you. What are you thankful for?
Now head over to Jeffrey’s blog and read all the other great post.

Your kindness and generosity of spirit stand out in a crowd!
I'm sure He is especially fond of you!
Thank you Dom. I'm not sure if He is as fond of me as you say. I can have a mean streak. The bane of my existence. Thanks for the nice comment.

Happy Thanksgiving, N.R.! Thanks for dropping by (I'm following you as well; you're close to 200, yay!) Nice to meet a Pilgrim descendent! I thought too late to include that non-Pilgrims were on the Mayflower, should've cut the historical pie a bit larger, gulp! If the captain of the Mayflower had cut and run, things might have turned out differently.
Thank you Kittie for dropping by and leaving a comment. The captain of the Mayflower had no idea what a historical thing he was doing.

I'm thankful for all the good things in my life, and many of the bad things, since they help me appreciate the good ones all the more.
Great post, N.R. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thank you Nate. I'm sorry I didn't check out the comments here sooner.
