Be Jolly Golly Blogfest

Jen and Jules are hosting the Be Jolly Golly Blogfest.

Here are the rules:

1.Blog Post to be posted on December 20th (whatever time you desire)
2.Show pictures of your decorations, holiday lights & Christmas tree!
3.Share your favorite treat (Recipe included, chance for others to steal the yumminess!)
4.Share your favorite drink (Recipe included, chance for others to steal the alcohol – or non)
5.Last but not least… visit others!!! Take part in their holiday cheer!

Note: For those who don’t celebrate Christmas, you’re welcome to share any other holiday you are celebrating in this year!

Here are my pictures:
I used my Droid phone to take the pictures and then my daughter and I spent over an hour trying to figure out how to email them to myself. Once done it was a simple means of downloading the attachments and uploading to blogger. I'm disappointed with the quality but a least you get a good idea. Next year maybe I'll have a camera.

When I saw this tree at the store several years ago I had to have it. It speaks Colorado to me. A bear climbing a Christmas tree with her cub at the bottom. So I decorated it with fruit, birds and snow flakes. There are a few special decorations the kids have added too.

Ugh, messy kitchen. It's hard to tell from this and we are missing a stocking. But the Christmas tree, house, train, Santa, bear and snowman are all musical and when opened have little figures go round and round. In the garage, still packed, I have a lot of lighted houses. But no place to put them so they remain packed.

My youngest daughter, who is the one helping me with the pictures, wants to be a chef. She has this wonderful cranberry recipe which we have been enjoying for the last two years.

Cranberry Relish
1 bag cranberry's
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup sugar
1 tsp nutmeg and 1 tsp cinnamon (optional).
1 or 2 small oranges, peeled and cut into slices.

Bring all ingredients, except orange slices, to a simmer ( be careful not to boil hard, the sugar will burn).

Simmer until cranberry's pop open and soft crush all or as many as desired in pot. (In other words, squish the buggers), with the back of a spoon. Then add orange slices. Keep warm until it's time to eat.

You can serve warm or cold.

We drink Hot Chocolate and variations. All of which we conveniently buy from the store.

My granddaughter and grandson outside in the lights in front of our three bedroom condo. I love my house and I love my grandchildren.

The Christmas tree photo didn't work out. Sorry, just use your imagination.
