Mitchell's phone rang almost the instant he won the lottery. He went to answer the first, the second, even the fifteenth call, before he slammed the receiver down and realized his family wasn't just calling to say hello.
Dominic pounced on the e-mail from his agent, his heart thumping as he read. Then he erupted in an ecstatic whoop; he had been accepted for publication. It was not until much later that he finally read to the bottom of the e-mail. They wanted the rest of the trilogy for editing first!
Actually I have no idea whether such a thing would happen, but it seems like a nightmare to me!
She had always wanted to see Mount Rushmore up close and personal, but Abraham Lincoln's upper lip was too much of a good thing. The next time somebody told her their virtual reality machine had a few bugs in it, she would listen to them.
He'd always wanted to rule the world, and now that he did he was exhilarated--but then he realized that there were all the politics and conflicts to match, his spirits were dampened.

But the moment she opened her mouth reality sat in. The sound she produced was that of Happy Feet doing his best mating call.
