Every morning my grandson wakes up and runs into my office blurting out, "eggs!" While he does this he jumps up and down with glee. So, I put a chair in the kitchen, get the pan going, he helps to put the butter in. I crack the eggs, he opens them, grins and says, "eggs! I do it, I do it!" He's four so now you may understand. When the eggs are ready to turn, he helps turn them. When they are ready to plate, he helps plate them, when they are ready to eat, he carries the plate to the table as if it is the most prescious thing on earth.

Once we were at the grocery store and the 'egg man' who stocks the eggs dropped a couple dozen continers of eggs on the floor right in front on my grandson. The next time he wanted eggs, he pulled them out of the refrigerator and turned to his Mom and said, "eggs." But he was shaking like a leaf afraid he would drop them and his Mom and I had a good laugh.
So, you can guess, my house has a lot of eggs. And soon it will have a gigantic bunny hopping around hiding them.
Cheers,
Nancy
P. S. For all my visitors, normally Wednesday is Hump Day Improvisation where you come up with a couple sentences to describe what a character is doing or thinking or experiencing. Just so you know.

Oh how I love eggs :) We used to live in the country and I had a hen house. Fresh eggs, nothing better. Miss those eggs. Your grandson is a very smart little man :)
I do enjoy eggs. Not a fan of egg salad though...
Hard to believe Easter is already around the corner.
Aw, that's such a sweet story! My 3 y/o loves cracking eggs as well, my job is fishing out all the eggshells ;)
Hugs,
Rach
That is too cute :) Don't read him my post on eggs (LOL)

What a sweet story! Thank you so much for sharing. (We eat a lot of eggs too.)
Ahh, taking joy in the simplest of things. A lesson we can all learn.
Isn't it great to cook with little ones? My 6 year old wants to help with everything too.

He is definitely a little chef. He wants to help cook everything. He is nuts about eggs. =)

What a lovely picture you painted! I love eggs, too. In fact, I only have two left in the fridge, so it is time to stock up again.
I had eggs this morning. I like oatmeal better though.
Thank you, Beth, tiger (she is my daughter and the mother of the egg boy), Susan and Austin...for leaving a comment. I appreciate it.

Haha very cute piece! Gotta love the wonderfully innocent and simple sensibilities of a child. Nice tie-in to Easter.
That's really cute, though the smile on the image is a bit disturbing, lol. Kids can be so cute about the quirkiest things. Now I kind of want eggs for lunch...
Gotta love eggs, even when they're not eaten as a breakfast food. Key to so many recipes.
Love this piece. Makes me think of my four nephews when they were that age. :)
Chocolate eggs are much better than real ones though!
As long as it's not the egg-man doing the hiding. LOL

I still like to make faces with my foods. Even mold mash potatoes. Some people like me never grow up.
Good advice, Holds. I didn't.
Hi Stephen, it's so much more fun not to grow up.
Thank you both for dropping by.

Hi, I just loved the story of your grandson. I loved when the girls were little and we would cook together. Children just have a way to make things better.
Thanks for visiting my blog today. And your help was so appreciated.
You're welcome, Sherree. Thank you as well.
Nancy
Eggs were the first thing I taught my daughter to cook after waking up one morning to her doing it on her own! It's so great that your Grandson is so excited to do it everyday!
Thank you for stopping by my blog! I wrote about eggs a bit today too:)
You're welcome, Claire.
