Q is for Quidditch:

YouTube link
Harry Potter:Quidditch

Now Quidditch is a game I could get into. As long as I don't have to ride the broom. I mean, ouch! The first year they didn't have any seats on those brooms. Imagine being a cheerleader for Quidditch. Not only would you have to learn how to cheer properly, but you'd better be good at ducking in case a blunger decided to hit you off the top of someone's shoulder. Anyway, seriously folks, J. K. Rowling came up with an amazing game. Here's to all those daring wizarding students.

Now for more fun. It's Hump Day and on Hump Day we do an Improvisation. So, have at it. In one or two sentences show us your character having fun with Quidditch.

I'll post my sentences later today.

I really need to read this book :) Do I have too?

LOL I, too, am one of the only people in the known universe who has not read Harry Potter. Does watching the movies count?

Oh, Quidditch! I'd so love to watch a real game. For fast pace, it reminds me a tiny bit of Australian Rules Football!

You're the only quidditch I've found so far, which surprises me. Ahhhh, if we could only fly....

What a PERFECT Q word. I wish we could all play Quidditch. Seriously jealous of JK for her imaginative streak.

Seriously, a bunch of high school boys riding a tiny broom stick - sounds painful! But it's a very interesting game. :) Hooray for HP!

I'd like to be a professional Quidditch player when I grow up. Best game ever!

Thank you Moon, Siv, Lisa, Amie, Vicki, Kari, Maggie and M. J.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the post. Some of you said you hadn't read Harry Potter so just a quick note on why you should. J.K. never lectured the reader. In each book she introduced spells that became increasingly important throughout the series and she never reminded the reader how the spell worked. She gave the reader credit for being intelligent. This is an easy problem to do. To reiterate throughout the ms. about this thing or that. Be careful not to do this. I recently read a book that had the same information repeated in every chapter. It drove me nuts.

Hiding behind a wall for protection from dismay. I have not read Harry Potter. My son loves and has read all the books, seen all the films.

Quidditch! Now there's a Q I haven't seen yet on the A-Z. :) Yes, that was a brilliant game JK invented! Have a great week. :)

Love Harry Potter, but hate heights! I'd be like Hermione and just cheer for my friends from the stands. :)

I love those books! But I never understood why bother blocking or making the goals in the quidditch. When the snitch is caught, it's all over!

Thank you Ann, Carol, Sarah, and Debbie for dropping in. I'm glad you enjoyed the trailer.

Out of all of the activities I've encountered in literature, if I could pick only one, I'd love to play Quidditch. :)

I can't believe I never thought of using that. ME, the ultimate HP fan!

But everyone would have guessed it too soon. I like to keep my flash fiction posts as difficult as possible.

My mc... since she could fly without a broom, I don't think it would phase her in the least. NOW her best bud would have a quaffel of a time.

This game can be a little brutal. I don’t think I would want to play it, but I would watch it.

As J.K. Rowlings so aptly illustrated, character and plot development are necessary to hook and retain the reader's attention.

Oh ho Jules, you're the only one who created a character. Now I'm inspired to do the same. Thank you, here's mine.

Albert joined his brother Einstein. (Their parents had a sense of humor that followed them everywhere).

Albert grabbed the broom and Einstein took the lead. Together they block Ravenclaw's move to make a score.
