eCollegeFinder has nominated my blog and my blog post on The Writing Craft for a Top Blogger Awards. eCollegeFinder began to award deserving blogs in early 2010. Their goal in hosting the awards is to enrich students while giving high-quality blogs the recognition they deserve. Award winners are listed on our site; you can view the awards we’ve given in the past at https://www.ecollegefinder.org/award-series.aspx.
How would you describe your blog to readers of our site?
I started this blog as a way to connect with other writers and readers and progressed to include not just information about my own writing but how to reach your personal goals as a writer. I love helping others and I have expanded this idea into a series of classes that you can read more about at my other blog. http://nrwilliamsthewritingcraft.blogspot.com/
· What advice can you offer students aiming to improve their writing acumen?
I am a fantasy author. So this question will be answered as a writer of fictional material. First and foremost there is no substitute for paying your dues. What do I mean by that? With the simplicity of self publishing through e-books on multiple sites, I have witnessed many would be authors publish their work before it was ready. I believe each writer has a unique voice and a story to tell, but you must invest the time to learn to write well. As with everything in life, there are rules. As an example I will use POV (point of view.) You can have one POV or many, but to change POV in the middle of a paragraph is confusing to a reader and will lead to frustration. I spent years honing my craft, attending conferences and workshops and I belong to an in person critique group. When I learned to control where and when I changed POV, I saw my writing improve by leaps and bounds. That is only one are of expertise. There are many.
You may search many blogs and read many post all of them excellent and knowledgeable. But if you are new to fictional writing, I urge you to take classes, either from me or someone else. There are many online resources for this. If you are an aspiring writer, I hope you let me know in the comments and I will follow you to watch you progress.
Happy Writing, Nancy

Congratulations, Nancy. It's a well-deserved honor!
Congrats. That's pretty cool.
So, half your post is in Greek. Is it suppose to be?
I moved my blog, but there is a feed problem with my old blog and the posts aren’t showing up. You can visit my new blog here.
Congratulations. That is great recognition.
Great Nancy. A few of us got the nomination. Sounds good. Is your second question supposed to be in another language - Greek?
I hope you are much better!

Hi, Nancy,
I just caught up and read that you are having health problems... I am SO sorry to hear that and that your doctor is a MAJOR idiot.
I hope you get off the iron pills and feel better immediately.
CONGRATS on the nomination! I was surprised to be nominated too! I'll be posting my answers on Friday.
I've missed you tons. I was out of the loop for a few months with life's dramas.
I am happy to be back blogging and catching up with old friends.
I hope 2012 brings you everything you need:good health, clients, and wonderful writing.
Take care sweetie. Drop me a line when you get a chance.
Michael
Congrats!
Congratulations! :) I was nominated as well.
Er, I'm not sure why, but half of your post is showing up as Greek.
That is so weird that half the post is in Greek. it's all in English to me. I will have to look at my settings.
Thanks everyone for stopping in. I had yet another relapse. I see a new Doctor on Monday and this clinic has been featured by the local news media. Keep your fingers crossed.
Nancy
I retyped the last part of the post, let me know if it is in English. It shows English to me.
Nancy

Wonderful words to the wise, Nancy. Like you, I believe in learning the craft before even thinking about publication.
