Fun Stuff
Deirdra Eden-Coppel gave me the Fantastic Fantasy Award. No rules, just link back to her. So if you write fantasy and you would like to have this award, go ahead and grab it. Just be sure to link back to Deirdra.
A friend e-mailed this funny paragraph from a personal ad. The ad is now closed so don't attempt to contact him. Here's the email.
Just picked up a fantastic book from the library: "They Call Me Naughty Lola: Personal Ads from the LONDON REVIEW OF BOOKS," edited by David Rose.
"Literary agents! Save time when considering a manuscript by not bothering to read it all. Instead, set two beetles to race across the front page -- one, a crippled, three-legged blind beetle named 'Accept,' the other a steroid-taking model of beetle athleticism, wearing the very best beetle roller-skates, being pulled by a team of 16 beetle-sized horses and called 'Destroy Every Dream This Man Ever Had.'" Whichever beetle wins decides the fate of the author. For a full set of rules and a license to play (patent pending), write to sobbing, separated, newly alcoholic, chain-smoking man, 38, on pills for his nerves. Box no. 3524."
Please note -- this ad is closed, so you won't get Mr. "sobbing" if
you tried to respond. ;-)"

Blog- fest and being tagged.
Tomorrow is Writing from an animal’s POV blog-fest, hosted by Dayana at Writing from the Wrogan. It’s not too late to sign up.
My Halloween party is coming up. If you want to join the fun, sign up on Mr. Linky. My server is interfering with Mr. Linky and he isn’t dropping down. But if you click on Mr. Linky, he will open a separate page so you can sign up. I’ve moved him to the side bar under the flying witch. This Halloween party blog-fest will be lots of fun. On that weekend, Firday, Oct 22 – Sunday Oct. 24…blog about your costume, your trick and your treat. Then go to all the other blogs who are participating, follow them and leave a comment. It would be great if you helped advertise this as well.
I read a post and got tagged…this should be fun. I am not going to assign this to anyone. Participate if you want to.
The Golden Eagle got me and now you may be next.
Name three colors you love:
Blue, green and purple. I do love most colors, I am an artist, but those three are calming.
Would you ever dye your hair any of those colors?
Absolutely not, but maybe when I’m really old, and gray, my hair will take on a blue hint. Who knows?
If you could choose one skill to be fantastic at, what would it be?
Writing and if I can have two, art.
Do you like to decorate your room with pictures and other decor?
If I had money, my room would be fabulously decorated, by me. I’d get tapestries, leather furniture, one of those great woven rugs on hardwood floors. Beautiful lamps and the list goes on. If it is my office, I’d add an antique desk, cherry bookshelves and an architect table for my art. The living room would have a thin T.V. and I’d have Bose sound and CD players. Alas, I have no money and we have a couple chairs in the living room with a really old T.V. because our old furniture died.
What was the most shocking moment of your life?
One of the saddest days of my life was when we lost our dog recently. He was a Shetland Sheep dog, 13 years old and he’d lay at my feet when I wrote and comforted me on many occasions. He was the family pet and grew old while my children grew up. I can’t think of a shocking day.
Name three songs you love (please include the artist!):
Annie’s song by John Denver.
Pretty much any song that Josh Groban sings.
The one about angels that Sarah McLaughlin sings.
Have you ever, quote "danced the night away"?:
Only in my dreams.
Who's your favorite author?:
J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis are tied with a strong third coming in with J. K. Rowling.
Did you like this tag?
Yes, it was fun Golden. Below are the official rules.
Tag any number of people you like (link his/her name to his/her profile/blog):
You’re tagged if you want to be.
My question to all of you wonderful bloggers is; pick one of the questions above that I answered and give us your answer.
PS I came down with a bug last tonight. I'm sorry, but I probably won't make very many blogs today. Happy Blogging.

Fried Brains
Everyone has experienced those days, which may stretch into weeks, and sometimes last for months, when you simply have so much to do and there aren’t enough hours in the day. I am currently in one of those cycles. I am finishing final edits on my epic fantasy to publish it and waiting for some feed back from an editor. I am creating a new character and writing a short fantasy that will be a series. (The epic is a series too, but that’s another post). I am thinking about resurrecting a few super short stories to submit to an online fantasy magazines and in addition to all that, I am squeezing in time for my art.
Of course, none of this changes the fact that I am an unpaid taxi driver for my two grown children who don’t have cars of their own. I’m also the emergency babysitter and the ear in which all manner of troubles are divulged. And the wife who is on call to answer troubling questions like, “how much is on my credit card, honey?” (He doesn’t say honey but I can’t repeat what he does say; this isn’t an x rated blog). (The husbands a trucker and when he runs out of cash he uses his card).
Considering my life there are times when I just feel like I can’t handle another thing. When I feel that way I often say, “My brain is fried.” So, I thought I’d turn it into a post.
My brain is fried when: you can’t remember which child you just talked to.
My brain is fried when: you forgot which character is talking and which one is pouting.
My brain is fried when: you thought it was Saturday all day and really it’s Wednesday.
My brain is fried when: you can’t spell your own name.
My brain is fried when: you intended to make hamburger for dinner but you defrosted a whole turkey instead.
Do you have fried brains? What does that smell like?
