As promised here are my cliché stoppers:

See the hump day post below.

1. (Love never dies). Death may come, it may surpass your sweet lips, it may still your heart, yet I shall love you in the next life far more than in this one.

2. (Is it getting too hot in the kitchen?) Are you embarrassed by what I said? You want to change the subject, yet I need an answer.

3. (If you build it they will come.) Construct your house, lift each post, endeavor to succeed and in the doing you will attract that which you desire.

It always amazes me how many cliches I find in a first draft when I start my revision process. They must be hardwired into my brain. Luckily, my critique group does a good job of pointing them out. You've provided great rewrite examples for us here.
