Helth Update

Two weeks ago when I went to the Doctor he put me on Iron. I told him that I almost hemorrhaged to death when my oldest was born and I was told that it was due to the Iron supplement they had me on. He seemed to think that was bogus. So, I started to take Iron. Last Thursday I had a nose bleed. Not just any nose bleed. It gushed out all over my clothes and the table where I was sitting. I stuck toilet paper up my nose and had to change it every minute for half an hour. All the blood and phelm  went down my throat into my lungs. I had a nose bleed three times that day and three times the next. Christmas Eve I spent in terrible pain and had more nose bleeds. It took me a little bit to connect the dots and I stopped taking the Iron. Now I am sick again. But I don't have a killer cold so that is good. On top of that I cracked my tooth and it's painful to eat.

I was 100%. Writing again. Now I'm weak and spaced out.

Back to the Doctor I go.

You've been through a lot, Nancy. I hope you take it easy in these next few days.

That is terrible! A bad thing to happen anytime, but at this time it's even worse. We have the same complaint about our doctor (soon to be ex-doctor), because he really doesn't seen to listen...
I hope you get this taken care of for good very soon!

Hi Susan G.
Yes, I think it's time to hunt for a new doctor too. Next time I'm listening to my own common sense.

Hi Susan R.
I am being forced to take it easy. I hate being a burden to my family.

Hi Pat
Doctors are not the end in all though some of them think they are. I really liked this one until now.

Thank you so much Laura.

And to all, thanks for your comments.

Wow. My daughter gets really bad nosebleeds like that as well. They said that sometimes it just happens, but it happens more when she's super stressed out. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

My God Nancy, I can't believe this. Poor you! Here I was hoping you were on the road to recovery well and truly. Pity that doctor didn't listen to you and find an alternative!

And I am going to say - Happy New Year~ because it will be!

Nancy, a doctor who listens to you is worth his or her weight in gold! I'm allergic to iron, but not in that way. It's just my digestion won't tolerate it. Wow, that must have been so scary! Good for you, stopping the iron when you realized that was causing it.

Why did the doctor have you on iron?

Sending you warm thoughts and hopes for a GOOD doctor!

Love,
MA

Ugh! Fire that Doc! You poor thing, that really sucks :( two of my friends have iron issues and one slept for three days straight because of it once. Yuck, bleeding noses have to be the worst. Sending bright Sunny energy from NZ your way (non shaky energy ;p). Take care :)

Sorry to hear of your troubles. That's scary. But you sound like you're on the mend. Find that balance of rest and writing. Health is more important than anything.

Damn girl, you need a personal nurse.

Make the nurse tall, dark and handsome and it may take away some of your suffering!

Feel better soon!

I know there are good doctors out there. And then there are .... It took me a while before I gave up my daughter's doctor whom I couldn't understand (her accent) and who wouldn't listen to me. We have to be aware of our bodies, and to speak up - and sometimes walk out. I hope you find the help you need, Nancy. What happened to you sounds JUST awful.
