New Years Eve: No Resolutions Here
I’m not big on making resolutions. They only get broken. So here are a few thoughts and a YouTube of New Years 2010 in Sydney, Australia.
1. I’m going to become a millionaire by writing the first ever “word verification” dictionary. Think of the possibilities. Turning non words into meaningful…well, you get the idea.
2. I have lost 31 pounds this year, and yes, it was on purpose.
3. I am moving to a far away place where no one can bug me…okay, I’m not really doing that.
4. I plan to blog even more in 2011.
5. I plan to write the next book in my High Fantasy Series. Book one is out. “The Treasures of Carmelidrium.”
6. The way to pronounce that is: Carmel-li-dre-um. Does that help?
7. I made up the word Carmelidrium so I am on my way to making that money with that “word verification” dictionary.
8. I am going to write a series of novellas too, featuring a Phoenix heroine.
9. Someone asked me how I knew they would be a novella? Because I plan it that way.
10. How big is a novella? Well, it’s at least 20,000 words and no more than 45,000 words. At least to me anyway.
11. Wait…I just realized my entire blog could be a novella. Well, I won’t do that to you.
12. I’m stopping now. I hope I made you laugh in between the true stuff. I like the word stuff, don’t you? It reminds me of cuddly teddy bears.
By the way, my blog book tour starts Friday, Jan. 7, 2011. I’ll be posting the tour schedule next week.
Happy New Year, Nancy

Aren't we on the ball this morning; lists and fireworks! But hey, I've already got that dictionary started, of course mine is the hillbilly version :)
Happy New Year my friend!
Jules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
I know you and Jules both have lives so what's with the dictionary?
Fun post, Nancy. Very best to you in 2011!
Happy New Year, Nancy. And don't poke fun of the word verification dictionary. That sounds like something that could sell.
Wishing you much success in 2011! And let me know when you begin working on that dictionary - my blogger buddy Fallen has a huge list of definitions and the two of you can collaborate.
Wishing you every success in the new year. Good luck on the book tour; that sounds very impressive. Congratulations on your year. My resolution is to turn " – your writing is strong and the concept interesting but that said I don’t think I’m the right agent for you" into the phone-call-type response.
Hey Jules, Mary, Maria and Alex...we all need to understand what we are typing. I mean, suppose those words are relevant in some way and not just annoying.
Thank you all for dropping by and leaving a comment.

That is nice of you to say Elaine. I'm not looking for an agent. I have a friend who likes to say, "when an agent or editor knocks on my door, I sign the contract." She means this as a joke of course.
NR
OK...the above response to Elaine's comment was stupid. I followed her to her blog and realized just how stupid. What can I say...I'm half asleep.

Happy New Year, Nancy! :)
I like your non-resolutions. I would totally buy your word verification dictionary.
Haha, funny, the word verification ideas. Sounds like great goals! I plan to be more efficient with my blogging time so I can WRITE more. My WIP is 2/3 done and I've been at it (sporadically) since May. I'm usually faster than that, so my goal is to finish it in 2011.
Good luck with your non-resolutions, and have a great 2011!
Thank you Golden.
I'm glad you caught the humor Clarissa.
Yes, writing is a challenge and getting things done is even more of a challenge Carol.

I'm all for the word verification dictionary! We can all be your research assistants and send you all the WV's we run into during our rounds.
LOL Vicki. Thanks for dropping in.

You're definitely on your way to millions. Remember your loyal followers when you get there! (And happy new year -- all the best for 2011.)
Amie, thank you, I hope you're right about the money. Right or wrong I'll still be blogging with all you, my friends.

I like the idea of having a "I do not resolve to..." list. I would begin with "I do not resolve to stop eating chocolate."
LOL Patricia, that's a good one.

Hey Nancy! I'm back! I'm on the computer! What have I missed? Heaps! I've done as much as I can following your emails on my phone. I'm looking forward to your book tour!
Great that you posted Sydney's fireworks. There were 1.5 million people watching from around the harbour. A glorious sight!
Word verification! I wish it was never invented. Slows up my blogging day no end! It's evil!
Happy New Writing Year!
I so agree with you on the word verification. Why people still use it, I'll never know. Thanks for leaving a comment L'Aussie.
