Hump Day Improvisation: Winter Activities & Sleigh Rides at Homestead Resort

Rocky Mountain Outfitters, YouTube.

Now that you are inspired. (You did watch the video. Yes, it is Colorado, U.S.A.) Today’s Hump Day Challenge is to write several sentences with a character that is enjoying some sports activity or a sleight ride in winter. Okay, you can go to the dark side of winter too. Accidents, whiteouts, blizzards, frozen limbs…good or bad have at it. Once you’ve had a chance to post your sentences, come back after 6 p.m. pacific time to read mine.

Above all, have fun!

P.S. I have jury duty today. I've already written my sentences scheduled for 6 p.m. pacific time, but I may not be back to do much blogging. I'll miss you all.

Hurray, the trial got canceled and I got to come home.

Love the video, especially the deer's guest appearance :) What a beautiful place, have you been on one of these sleigh rides?

Great video... especially since it's 28 degrees in Florida today.... Would rather just be watching it, rather than feeling it.

Great video...It's still 57.3 in Texas with a low of 49. No sleigh rides here!

How could Mike tell me he wanted a divorce, then go out to play in the snow? I already called Judy, and she invited me to pack a bag and spend a few days, since a snowstorm is due to blow in tonight. Now I'm waiting at the bottom of the hill for Mike's final how-far-can-I-go-into-the-woods slide with a fallen branch in my hand. If only he hadn't kicked me out--I could have been here to help him when he ran into a tree and died of hypothermia....

My mind was entranced by the rhythm of swoosh and crunch created by my cross-country skies. As fresh snow fell, there was no other sound to be heard. The details of my surroundings were lost in a blur of white and brown.

Joanne, I loved to go on a sleigh ride. It's on my list.

I think we are warmer in the Denver area Lou.

57 isn't bad Beth.

Great sentences Marian.

Nice flow with your sentence C.N.

Thank you all for dropping by and leaving a comment.

As I walked around the lake, I saw a man slip through the ice into bone numbing water beneath. I stood and watched as the heart stopping cold leached the heat from his blood and sapped the strength from his limbs. I did nothing to help. Then he clambered out, wreathed in smiles, and joined his fellows. I shook my head and walked on. They do this for fun?

I meant to say glad you got a reprieve so you can spend time with us! Do you have to go back another day to do your duty?

Loved the sentences Dom and no, I won't have jury duty again for several years. Glad you could make it by and leave those awesome sentences.

I'd rather be there...
Sentences. Hmm, not much snow in space...

Funny Alex. Space snow sounds like a good parody.

The wind howled as it pebbled large flakes at Trinity. Using her wolfish teeth, she snatched up her pup by the fur on the back of his neck, and then trudged through the snow, no sign of shelter in sight.

"Help, help!" It was my niece shouting. "Sean is up on the expert skiers slope."
Sean was only 7 and it was his first time skiing. The rescuers caught the next lift up. Would they make it in time to save Sean from disaster?

Oh, that would be scary. Thanks for dropping in Sharon and sharing your story.
